Nintendo Switch | First Impressions
Nintendo has finally revealed its new console, along with the official name -Nintendo Switch. The name is simple and catchy enough for even your grandparents to remember, unlike it’s predecessors the Wii and Wii U. So here are the many ways the Switch can be utilized for your gaming needs:
1. The Nintendo Switch utilizes a dock that connects the console to a TV to allow gameplay with family and friends in the comfort of your living room similarly to a traditional console.
2. By lifting the Nintendo Switch console from its dock, it will instantly transition to handheld mode, which will allow a portable gaming experience anywhere without any restrictions of distance away from the dock.
3. In handheld mode, the Joy-Con controller can be split into three parts and used as a standalone display, while the two attached controllers are used separately by two different users. This allows a local multiplayer experience with two separate controllers from just one console.
4. Numerous Nintendo Switch consoles can be connected together utilizing a type of wireless adhoc mode to enjoy local multiplayer face-to-face competitions, while still being able to use multiple Joy-Con controllers or even an optional Nintendo Switch Pro Controller.
This console is definitely innovative and unlike anything gamers have ever seen before on the market. It emphasizes all of Nintendo’s innovative ideas into one super console, everything from the portability of the 3DS to the awesome touchscreen controller of the Wii U. Nintendo has also gained the support of major publishers, developers and middleware partners and with such an innovative console, I expect the list to continue growing.
